Bessie Nicolaides (‘18) has gone through a roller coaster of emotions during the end of her senior year, and the classes she took this year, gave her a challenge that prepared her for college and the future. Nicolaides enjoyed having a broad selection of classes for the end of the year, especially with the challenge of AP classes, to prepare her for college. “I challenge myself through AP, most of the classes, I didn’t take them because I had an interest in them, I took them for the fun of it. Having the courage to do things, I probably wouldn’t have done otherwise.” Nicolaides said.

Although, the choices that she had made, had helped her prepare for college, there was still some choices that she would have re done, if she had the chance to. “I’m happy with my choices, because I’ve made a lot of friends. I’ve enjoyed my time here at Alvarez,” said Nicolaides. “I think I would have probably involved myself in more clubs, just because I don’t think I’ve explored enough. Yeah I had academics, but I could have done some more sports, or set aside more time for myself." While every senior is ready to get out of school, there is still the lingering feeling of choices they could have made to change the outcome. Still, they have all made a strong impact on our campus, and will all be missed when they depart.
