Since some of our students are underage, they feel like they are unable to voice their vote. Many have felt that it is important to make a change in their local government, but they are not being encouraged. The iVote Club members have began to change their mindset, and encourage them to take the first step into voting, voicing their rights as citizens. Over this past month, some of our fellow Eagles have been working hard on getting as many students to register, or if not, pre- registered.

Over the time period they got over 100 students registered or pre-registered. Their overall goal was to really open people’s eyes on the importance of this step. “It is important for us teenagers to register because we increase turnout, and because it is important to be aware of politics in our community; and most importantly because it is our future we are planning.” said Joseph LaRocca (‘18). Some of the students have expressed an emotion of excitement and fulfillment when finishing their application. “It feels good knowing I gave the opportunity to make a difference not just in my local community but in the nation.” said Brianna Alvarez (‘18).
