VJ Vanderlipe ('20)
VJ Vanderlipe (‘20) breaks yet another school record for pole vault at the ‘Top 8’ Invitational in Los Gatos. Vanderlipe broke his previous school record with ease after overcoming 14’2” and taking the 1st place trophy. In Vanderlipe’s second year in pole vaulting he has progressed significantly, although he did break Alvarez’s previous pole vault record as a freshman and is still holding it.
“I don’t know what the future holds next year. I know I will continue pole vaulting but it would be nice to go to a better program for track.” said Vanderlipe. If he does not continue to vault for Alvarez next year, he still has set his mark and raised the standards for this school and will leave a big impact on the track program.
