Two words. Five syllables: New York state of mind. For Belgian foreign exchange student, Zoriana Vanloffelt New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., was an experience of a lifetime. “New York was huge, all the buildings were so tall.” From visiting Times Square to the Lincoln Memorial in D.C. She had a blast with fellow Belgian and Taiwan Rotary Youth Exchange students. “Everything was so expensive!” Vanloffelt mentioned, “My brother back in Belgium gave me fifty bucks to buy him things from New York, and I found myself spending that money on a shirt, a keychain and a mug.” When I asked Vanloffelt if she would return to New York, or the East Coast with her family she laughed and said, “I saw everything you could possibly see and do in New York, I loved it but I’d be okay if I didn’t come back.”
