Davelen Matias (‘18) took her Advanced Placement (AP) test for United States History in the big gym on Friday, May 5th. Matias wasn't really nervous at first but once she arrived to school she realized that it was the real deal. Even though she felt some anxiety about her test, she also felt confident and poised because she got a good night sleep, and good breakfast from her teacher Mr. Williamson-Page (WP). Matias said “After I ate my breakfast, I knew I was going to be able to concentrate on my test."
Matias was also willing to share some tips about taking AP tests. She said “Study weeks before, not at the very last minute.” She added “Eat a good meal, have all the materials ready for the test.” Matias also mentioned the importance of getting a restful sleep the night before, and that time management is important. Matias felt good about her effort she put towards her test, and she is eager for her score to arrive in June.
